One person died and another was hospitalized after a major crash southeast of Longmont on Thursday morning.
The crash occurred in unincorporated Weld County, and both vehicles were severely damaged. Emergency personnel came quickly to the situation.
Morning Crash in Weld County
The crash occurred around 7 a.m. near the intersection of Weld County Roads 20.5 and 7. The accident included a pickup truck and a little hatchback.
The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles, making it impossible to locate the drivers. Emergency responders moved promptly to assess the situation.
Because of the severity of the collision, specialized tools were required to extract the drivers from their automobiles. The spot, southeast of Longmont, was secured as investigators launched their preliminary investigation.
Mountain View Fire Rescue spearheaded the rescue efforts following a fatal collision, with aid from other local organizations.
Crews employed extrication equipment to rescue the trapped drivers from the wreckage. The complicated rescue operation demonstrated the gravity of the crash’s impact. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals after being rescued from their vehicles.
Unfortunately, one driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The condition of the second driver is unknown at this time.
