Studio Ghibli set to release their first CG animated movie

After six years of silence, the ever famous studio Ghibli has come out of the shadows after six years of waiting. “Earwig and the Witch” is set to come out late December in Japan and early 2021 in the US. The film is based upon a popular children’s story, Earwig and the Witch, written by Diana Wynne Jones, the same author who wrote “Howl’s Moving Castle”, which Ghibli adapted into one of their most famous animated films yet. With esteemed director Hayao Miyazaki retired, his son, Goro, has taken over as head director for the upcoming movie and has left fans conflicted about the choice of using CGI animation, as it is the first time Ghibli has attempted this style of animation.
