Community Service Opportunities

Whether students need to get community service hours to qualify for Bright Futures or other scholarships, or just want to help out during the holidays, there are many organizations in Manatee County that are always looking for volunteers.

SunCoast Blood Centers- SunCoast Blood Centers runs blood drives and collected blood at their center to send to hospitals across the country. Volunteers can help organize blood drives and other events for service hours. If interested you can contact the volunteer coordinator, Joan Leonard, at [email protected]

HOPE Family Services- HOPE helps victims of domestic violence and are always looking for donations of clothes and hygiene products for families in their shelter. There are also many opportunities to volunteer. If interested, contact (941)-747-8499, both for donations and volunteering.

The Humane Society of Manatee County- The Humane Society is a non-profit no-kill shelter for both dogs and cats, and has many opportunities for volunteering, including cleaning kennels, walking and socializing with the animals, being an office assistant, or being a veterinary center assistant.
