Following her mother’s footsteps, Mrs. Shauna Nance became a math teacher because she loved working with numbers. Growing up, Nance held several different tutoring jobs, which taught her a love for teaching. After teaching elementary school for a year, Nance decided she wanted to focus on just one subject, so she decided to move to high school and impact there. She loves to see students start to enjoy math since so many have a negative attitude towards it.
“It’s home, my grandparents went here, my parents went here, me and my husband went here it is just, it’s always where I wanted to be, I guess. It just seems right,” said Nance about why she came back to teach at her alma mater.
