New this year, Manatee High School has decided to establish a brand-new timeline that was installed earlier this month. This eye-catching piece can be found on the wall in the front office of campus.
From the years 1897 to 2020, the timeline features the history of the building, our rise to fame in football championships, and perseverance through tragedies and obstacles like segregation, 9/11, and Covid-19.
The timeline highlights our continued traditions such as the annual powderpuff game and bonfire during homecoming week.
“We are proud to unveil our brand new MHS school timeline now up and part of our beautiful lobby and front office. Manatee High traditions and history are such an amazing part of our school,” says Manatee High School in a September 7th statement.
The main contributors for this project were the Smyrna History Museum, Georgia Archives, and Wills alumni.
This new addition to our campus will remind students of the principles Canes should embrace day-to-day. It demonstrates the value of continued tradition and deepens the meaning of true Cane Pride.
