On April 22, Marvel’s Phase 3 released the last Avengers movie. “Avengers Endgame” was created with a budget of over $350 million, one of the most expensive film ever made. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo directed it. The main actors were: Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Steven Strange. The mother company of Marvel Disney had expected a great opening weekend for the movie. Disney’s latest blockbuster,
“Avengers Endgame”, broke many records in the film industry,  including being the best start weekend in the history of movies. The money made with the movie was almost twice as high than expected, bringing in 1.2 billion globally on its opening weekend. It is the eighth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to cross the billion-dollar mark and the fastest of any film to ever earn that much. Endgame is looking forward to breaking the record of the most successful movie previously held by Avatar by James Cameron.

It has been almost one year since fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were left with one of the most shocking cliffhangers in “Avengers: Infinity War.” Titan Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, killed half of all life in the universe with the snap of a finger, including half of all the Avengers who were trying to fight him at that time. After five years of Thanos’s snap, the Avengers are still traumatized. Some moved on to a new life and some did not because of the pressure and the guilt. With the surprising appearance of a presumed dead friend are the remaining heroes like Captain America, Iron Man and everyone else approached with the opportunity to change everything.

Record Breaking: The movie is currently breaking all kinds of records. Endgame had an even better start weekend than Avatar or Star Wars: Force Awakens (Place 1 and 2). “The movie deserves to be the number one. I love it and it is going to be one of my favorite movies of all time,” stated Abbi Drapala,  a sophomore.

With three hours and two minutes of screen time, the film is the longest Marvel movie of all time, which did not stop the audience from watching the whole movie and rating it as one of the greatest movies of all time. A review score of 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes is uncommon.

“I am so shocked! I love the new movie, it felt like 5 seconds to me, but I am just shocked about the end. It is a great movie though and the director did a great job, because each hero got there own screen time and there was a  good plot with many twists. In comparison to Infinity War, Endgame is much better, because someone actually dies and stays dead.”, explained Nicole Clark, a senior.

With so many combined superpowers, it is always hard to follow the storyline and not make the movie boring but the directors of Endgame did a great job. The movie has excellent ratings because it is not a typical Marvel film. The humor of Marvel is missing, which gave the movie the needed drama. The Russo Brothers made the right decision by stepping on the humor brake with the film, because “Avengers: Infinity War” was missing the seriousness.

“This movie has destroyed my life. It is so good, but I hate the plot twists in it. I am not very happy with the outcome if Avengers Endgame but I think it was needed. Anyways it is a very good movie and if you have time to watch it go out and do it.”, stated Katelyn Bensen, a sophomore.

The 22nd film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is all-round successful and an emotional conclusion of an 11-year journey. Both comic lovers and Marvel newbies have thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Endgame is definitely one of the best movies of the entire year and is highly recommended.
