You can smell the tailgate BBQ already

The tailgate BBQ is right around the corner, with suspension already rising. Students can purchase tickets at lunch or in Mrs. Walter’s room, 359. Getting the ticket before the BBQ will save two dollars, costing ten dollars. If one was to buy the ticket at the actual event, it would cost twelve dollars. The tailgate dinner will run from 5:30-7 in the evening, which is before the game starts.

“We plan on having a similar menu from last year,” stated Ms. Thomas, the Culinary Arts teacher.

Last year’s menu included pulled pork and chicken, beans, green beans, coleslaw, cookies and assorted beverages.

  • Chocolaty Concoction: Junior Nancy Morales thoroughly mixing the cookie dough. These were the hottest cookie of the two offered last week. "I love baking and cooking. It's something I want to do in the future," stated Morales.

  • Lunch Prep: Culinary III student Caleb Yetter preparing meals for teachers on the day of the Homecoming game. He took Culinary at Sugg Middle as well, so he has lots of prior experience. "I help out Ms. Thomas with a lot of different events," stated Yetter.

  • Ready, Set, Bake: Jamareliz Swilley prepping the sugar cookie dough for the oven. The cookies were on last week's menu as a dessert choice. "I like working with everybody," stated Swilley when explaining why she liked helping out with culinary events.
