The football team introduces a new coach Jacquez Green. He attended and played football at the University of Florida and went on to play professionally with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This will be his 11th year coaching.

He played for the Florida Gators from 1995-97: in 1998, he started playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He left the NFL, with 162 receptions for 2,311 yards and seven touchdowns.

When most high school students start playing football, some do not end up moving to college level football.

“… not hanging out with the wrong crowds…no matter how talented I thought I was, I always did my school work,” stated Mr. Green, explaining how he made it through school.

The experience that he got from being an NFL player has helped him coach in various ways. It has helped him to see football in so many levels that he knows how to apply it to certain kids.

A great start: Mr. Green is enjoying coaching the Manatee hurricanes. He coached in both St. Petersburg and in Tallahassee. “I love the effort the kids play with,” stated Mr. Green.
