Ocean Awareness field trip

The Earth’s surface is 71% covered in ocean, so it makes sense why the Ocean Awareness Club would want to learn more about it. They did just that by taking a field trip to Mote Marine Aquarium on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The trip’s purpose was to learn more about how satellite tracking is used by researchers to get information about sharks, as well as to see all of the ocean life there.

“It was very fun and I actually learned a lot from the shark research class, and all the animal exhibits were super cool,” said sophomore Grace Diggens.
