AMD’s Ryzen 5000 Series Reveal and Radeon Rx 6000 Teaser

AMD revealed their new Ryzen 5000 series (processors for desktops) last week on Thursday, Oct. 8. The new 5000 series processors are still on 7nm, same TDP (watts or power consumption), and same amount of cores and threads. However, the new 5000 series processors will be jumping to their new “Zen 3” architecture.

For their new CPU, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, they are claiming that consumers should expect an average of 26% improvement when upgrading from the 3900XT in games.

AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPU’s

  • AMD Ryzen 9 5600X – 6 cores/12 threads, 3.7GHz base and 4.6GHz boost clock, 35MB cache, and 65W TDP.
  • AMD Ryzen 9 5800X – 8 cores/16 threads, 3.8GHz base and 4.7GHz boost clock, 36MB cache, and 105W TDP.
  • AMD Ryzen 9 5900X – 12 core/24 threads, 3.7GHZ base and 4.8GHz boost clock, 70MB cache, and 105W TDP.
  • AMD Ryzen 9 5950 – 16 cores/32 threads, 3.4GHz base and 4.9GHz boost clock, 72MB cache, and 105W TDP.
Large gains? AMD reveals the 5900X benchmark against the i9-10900K, an obvious victory for AMD. AMD also reveals the 5900X performance against Intel’s 10th Gen i9 – 10900K. Showing AMD’s victory in gaming performance.

The stream didn’t end with just showcasing the processors. Additionally, Radeon RX 6000 series (GPU) was teased to perform over 60 frames per second in Borderlands 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Gears of Wars 5 at 4k resolution and ultra settings.

AMD will be talking about the RX 6000 series on Oct. 28, 2020. While the new 5000 series processors will be releasing world wide on Nov. 5, 2020.

Consumers are now expecting for Intel’s response and looking to profit from the competition.
