JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – In Jackson County, Oregon State Police responded to a collision involving two vehicles that occurred late on Sunday morning, November 10. The collision occurred on Highway 99 at the intersection with Ellen Avenue.
Timothy J. Hunt, 72, of Medford, was driving a Ford Windstar when it was struck by a Toyota Camry driven by Brian I. Paramo Zizumbo, 26, of Medford. The collision occurred while the Ford Windstar was attempting to turn southbound onto the highway from Ellen Avenue.
Brian R. Foreman, 76, from Central Point, was a passenger in the Ford. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the site of the accident from injuries sustained.
Hunt, the driver, and Jeanette I. Cox, 85, a passenger from Medford, both sustained significant injuries and were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Significant injuries were sustained by Paramo Zizumbo, who was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. The investigation that took place at the scene lasted for nearly four hours, during which time the roadway was affected.
The cause of the collision is currently being looked into by authorities.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Central Point Police Department, the Jackson County Fire District 3, and the Ohio Department of Transportation all provided assistance to the Ohio State Police.
