North Texas Weekend Forecast Sunny Friday, Breezy Saturday, and Rain on Sunday

North Texas should expect a gorgeous Friday and Saturday before scattered showers and a cold front approach.

On Friday, there will be bright skies and temperatures in the low 70s. Saturday looks promising as well, with partly overcast skies and breezy southeasterly breezes, with highs in the mid-70s.

North Texans may wake up to clouds on Sunday morning as southerly breezes bring Gulf moisture into the area. Spotty rains are probable throughout the day on Sunday, but it will not be a total washout. The severe threat is minimal during the day due to a lack of instability.

The severe threat intensifies in western areas late Sunday night as the next system approaches.

Showers and thunderstorms will move eastward throughout North Texas by Monday morning, with skies clearing from west to east in the afternoon.

Late Sunday night, western counties face a Level 2 risk of wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail, and an isolated tornado.

The hazard swings eastward to cover areas of the Metroplex on Monday morning when the cold front moves through the region.

Meteorologists with CBS News Texas First Alert have issued Weather Alert Days for both Sunday and Monday due to weather threats.

Tuesday is looking wonderful and pleasant before the next front comes on Wednesday, bringing colder airmass.

Temperatures will likely reach the upper 50s Wednesday and Thursday, with breezy northwesterly winds.
