A 38-year-old man from Humble, Texas, died after being struck by a vehicle late Sunday night, Nov. 18, on Interstate 10 East, according to El Paso Police.
The incident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday on I-10 East near the Zaragoza exit.
Siddharth Mukherjee, 38, was struck by a vehicle while crossing the highway, according to police.
Mukherjee died from his injuries, according to authorities.
The Special Traffic Investigations unit responded to the collision.
Interstate 10 East was closed near Zaragoza until approximately 5 a.m. when it reopened.
According to authorities, a person on the road contributed to the incident.
This is the 61st traffic fatality this year within El Paso City boundaries, compared to 71 last year at this time.
