There is a Winter Weather Advisory in place for the counties of Lassen, Eastern Plumas, and Eastern Sierra until 10 o’clock the evening Pacific Standard Time today.
At elevations above 5,000 feet, snowfall of two to five inches is anticipated, with snowfall of up to eight inches likely west of Highway 395.
As a result of the potentially hazardous driving conditions, winds could gust up to 45 miles per hour. Commutes in the morning and evening could be negatively impacted by slippery roads.
Particularly gusty winds are another cause for concern because they can pull down tree branches.
There will be an increase in snow levels tonight, which will prevent any more snow accumulation; however, roadways will continue to be wet and slippery. Those who are traveling are strongly encouraged to take it easy and be cautious.
