According to meteorologists, a powerful second bomb cyclone is growing over the Pacific Ocean, and it is expected to unleash a violent atmospheric river on the San Francisco Bay Area on Friday.
The Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes predicts “AR 3-4 conditions” from the Bay Area to southern Oregon.
The National Weather Service (NWS) predicted 3-7 inches of rain in the North Bay, with up to 3 inches likely elsewhere in the Bay Area and Central Coast.
Wind gusts of up to 50 mph and significant floods are forecast when the cold front passes through, causing broad effects. Residents are warned to prepare for severe weather and follow NWS updates.
