Apple unveiled a new iPad mini on Tuesday, marking the first update since 2021.
The new iPad mini features a speedier A17 Pro CPU, the same one seen in last year’s iPhone 15 Pro. That means it supports Apple Intelligence, the company’s new suite of artificial intelligence technologies, which will be gradually made available to consumers this month.
During the company’s fiscal third quarter, Apple’s iPad sector saw the most growth, increasing by around 24% year on year after introducing numerous new iPads since 2022.
Apple’s smallest iPad has a devoted following of customers who prefer its more portable 8.3-inch screen for reading books or taking notes. The iPad Mini supports the latest Apple Pencil Pro, which was released alongside the iPad Pros earlier this year.
It starts at $499, can be pre-ordered now, and will ship in shops on October 23.
