This morning, we’re watching our next major storm system approach the coasts of Washington, Oregon, and California.
While not as powerful as the previous two, this system packs a substantial punch. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast from San Francisco southward through central California, just north of Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the Sierra mountain range is likely to get considerable snowfall.
Heavy rain and rumbles have already swept the central coast into the Valley, and snowfall is only begun. In some situations, 1-3 feet of snow is forecast across the mountain ranges.
As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra mountain range’s higher elevations until 4 a.m. PST on Wednesday.
As the storm proceeds east, significant snows are expected to fall throughout the Wasatch Mountains in Utah and the Gore and Elk Mountains in Colorado.
We might also see snow accumulations of 1-3 feet and gusts gusting beyond 50 miles per hour. Heavy snowfall is anticipated to hit the region from midnight tomorrow to Wednesday night.
