Two persons were killed in a multi-car accident on Thanksgiving day.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said the incident occurred around 4 p.m. at Windsor Spring Road and Willis Foreman Road.
One driver was pronounced deceased on the site at 4:08 p.m., while the driver of the other vehicle was taken to Wellstar/MCG hospital and pronounced dead at 6:04 p.m., Bowen said.
The names have not been revealed pending notification of the family.
The incident at the rural south Augusta crossroads occurred as an estimated record number of holiday tourists hit the road on what is frequently a dangerous day to drive.
