A 25-year-old Tennessee man died early Thanksgiving morning in a crash on Interstate 71 in Westfield Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Medina Post.
Eliyjsha Richardson, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was driving his white Hyundai Sante Fe north on I-71 near milepost 206 when he collided with the rear of a white Honda Civic at 12:16 a.m.
Thursday. Richardson then veered off the left side of the road, colliding with a median cable barrier before entering the southbound lanes.
While driving southward, the Hyundai collided head-on with a large tractor-trailer and a white Dodge cargo van.
Richardson was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the Dodge cargo van was taken to Cleveland Clinic in Lodi with significant injuries, while the drivers of the other vehicles were allegedly uninjured.
The crash is still under investigation.
