Authorities are looking into a three-vehicle incident in Freehold Township that killed one motorist and injured two others on Tuesday, according to officials.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said the incident happened around 10:25 p.m. Monday on Jackson Mills Road near Geisler Road.
A 20-year-old male traveling north on Jackson Mills Road collided with a cargo van driven by a 40-year-old man. A third vehicle, driven by a 21-year-old man, sideswiped the van’s passenger side and came to a stop on the right side of the road, Santiago stated.
The 20-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital and died at 6:22 a.m. on Tuesday, according to Santiago. Santiago reported that the other two drivers were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
As of early Wednesday, the name of the guy killed had not been disclosed.
The crash is still being investigated by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team, and Freehold Township police. No charges or citations were issued.
