PORTLAND, Ore – Following a three-vehicle incident near Mulino in Clackamas County on Wednesday evening, one driver died and another was hospitalized.
Just after 5 p.m., Oregon State Troopers responded to reports of a crash on Highway 213 near Milepost 10.5.
When they arrived, they discovered that a Mazda was going southward when it crossed into the northbound lanes while driving around a curve.
The Mazda then collided with a pickup truck driving in the northbound lane, according to officials.
The impact of the incident caused the pickup to veer into the southbound lane and collide with an SUV, according to officials.
The Mazda’s driver, 54-year-old Delfino Navarro, was taken to a hospital, where he died from injuries.
Police suspect Navarro is also linked to a driving complaint filed a few minutes before the incident.
The SUV’s driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
