An Indiana man was detained Wednesday after state police discovered more than six pounds of cocaine and thousands of dollars in his vehicle during a traffic stop, according to officials.
Just before 3:30 p.m., an Indiana State Trooper observed a black 2007 BMW SUV commit a moving infraction on U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County.
The trooper stopped the vehicle near the crossroads of US 30 and CR 150 West. According to state police, a K9 officer assisted officers by alerting them to the smell of narcotics.
A search of the SUV turned up three kilos (just over six and a half pounds) of suspected cocaine and $3,000 in cash.
Jarvis Buchanan, 44, of Fort Wayne, was arrested for cocaine possession, a Level 3 felony. He is being held at the Kosciusko County Jail.
