He served as an Assistant City Attorney and Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Miami Beach from May 2022 until his judicial appointment. Prior to this role, he was a Medicaid Fair Hearing Officer with the Agency for Health Care Administration between October 2021 and April 2022. His experience also includes a tenure as a Senior Trial Court Staff Attorney in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida from January 2010 to November 2020.

In addition to his legal practice, Clermont has contributed to academia as an instructor in subjects such as quantitative methods, statistics, and economics at Miami-Dade College from June 2014 to December 2017. He also held adjunct faculty positions at Southern New Hampshire University and Key College, teaching courses ranging from administrative law to criminal procedure.
