The Clark County Coroner’s office has identified the man who was shot and died on the Las Vegas Strip on Monday as Michael Wilmot, 50, from Las Vegas. Death was caused by a gunshot wound to the torso.
Wilmot, an Uber driver with two passengers, was shot in a road rage incident after getting out of his vehicle, walking to the other car, and banging on the driver’s side door window, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan police.
The shooting on November 25 took place in front of the Palazzo at the Venetian resort. Police said Wilmot and the suspect, a 24-year-old woman who has not been publicly identified, were involved in a road rage incident.
After the incident, authorities stated the woman fled the scene before officers arrived. Police identified the suspect’s vehicle plate and apprehended her at a residence near Washington Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive.
Metro stated that it forwarded the inquiry to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for self-defense consideration.
