According to the Missoula Police Department, a pedestrian was involved in a tragic collision that took place on Brooks Street Friday night. The department is currently investigating the event.
Near around ten minutes past ten o’clock on Tuesday evening, a collision took place near the junction of Brooks Street and South Higgins Avenue. A semi-truck that did not have a trailer struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street, and the truck went southbound on Brooks Street without stopping. This information was provided by a witness.
A deceased guy, aged 53, was discovered by law enforcement officers in the 300 block of Brooks Street. After the semi-truck was identified with the assistance of other law enforcement authorities, the driver, a guy who was 38 years old, was taken into custody to conduct the first interviews.
To assess whether or not any criminal charges or additional steps are warranted, the Missoula County Attorney’s Office is currently collaborating with the police. It has been decided to release the driver awaiting the conclusion of the inquiry that is currently underway.
A statement was made by the Missoula Police Department expressing their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased individual. The statement also indicated that the identity of the deceased person will be made public at a later time by the Missoula County Coroner’s Office.
