Douglas County’s Interstate 20 was closed for 90 minutes Sunday morning due to a collision. The Georgia State Patrol arrested a driver suspected of driving under the influence.
GSP reports that at about 6 a.m. on Sunday, a Nissan Xterra was driving eastbound on Interstate 20 near Lee Road in Douglas County.
The driver of the Xterra collided with two other vehicles, resulting in another vehicle being hit. Police discovered that the driver of the Nissan Xterra was under the influence.
Everyone involved in the incident, including the DUI driver, was transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
After gaining medical clearance, the driver was taken to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. GSP has not disclosed the driver’s name.
