Maysville Crash Leaves Northern Kentucky Couple Dead, Critical Injuries, Texas Men in Custody (1)

A Northern Kentucky couple died, another motorist was critically injured, and two Texas men were arrested following a crash in Maysville on Saturday.

Kentucky State Police say William Darnell of McKinney, Texas, rear-ended a Hyundai Sonata on westbound AA Highway near Slack Road.

The accident forced the vehicle into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a Chevy Malibu. The Malibu’s driver was evacuated to the hospital via medical helicopter, where she is claimed to be stable.

William Darnell was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, wanton endangerment, open container, possession of marijuana, and driving without a license.

Both individuals aboard the Sonata were killed. They are Joshua and Latasha Wells from Germantown.

William Darnell’s brother, Colt Darnell, was a passenger in his vehicle and was detained for allegedly attempting to flee the scene of an accident and public intoxication.
